Since there are a lot of questions like this in the replies and no one seemed to answer them yet, here it is:
Instead of having a world organized by profit, where the fear of starvation forces most of us to work and a few people get hugely rich by exploiting us all,
We have a world where there are no profits, no rich people, no stock exchange, where people work voluntarily, simply because once work becomes non-coercive, doing some useful stuff in your life is more fun than sitting at home playing endless rounds of monopoly,
and everyone gets what they need for free.
So the doctors and wheelchair-producers and farmers and builders do not get compensated for their individual products, they get compensated by being able to live in a world where all their needs are taken care of forever and they will never have to worry about healthcare, food, housing, etc.
Which is a pretty good deal.
So how do we decide what needs to be made and what people need? Well, we ditch the market, we ditch leaders, and we actually decide this together. We also run the hospitals and farms and workshops and factories together instead of letting bosses decide what our working conditions and working hours are. Which is a hell of a lot more fun too.
Will everything be perfect? no. But the current situation where 99% of us are exploited our whole lives just to survive (and many don’t survive) while a few get ridiculously rich is so shit that it’s about time we tried something less focused on profit and more focused on meeting our needs together.
It’s called anarchism, which gets a lot of bad press but you should really check it out. Further reading: Anarchy Works
